AI phone hosts for restaurants: Maple, Slang, Loman, Serviio and AZ
If you want the cheapest self-serve option, look at Maple or Serviio. If you mostly take reservations, Slang.ai and Yelp Host are built for that. AZ fits when you want the phone host to take the order, get it paid before it is cooked, handle catering and regulars, speak with Urdu and Hindi callers, and be set up and tuned with your staff over the first three months.

Languages are exactly what each vendor's own page said in October 2026. "No list" means the page gives a number or the word multilingual without naming the languages.
Where they beat us, and where we are different
Where competitors are stronger
- Maple publishes a low price and you can be live without a long conversation.
- Serviio has no monthly fee and a three-month free trial: you pay 2% only when an order goes through.
- Maple Pro, Loman, Kea and Revmo take the card on the call. Ours texts a pay link while the host stays on the line.
- Slang.ai Premium claims 97 languages. Our non-English calling is new and has handled only a handful of real calls.
- These vendors answer for hundreds or thousands of restaurants. Ours answers for one, our own.
What AZ does differently
- Paid before it is cooked. The ticket prints only once the guest pays, so no phone order is left unpaid at the counter.
- More than orders. Catering intake with headcount and dishes, delivery quotes, "where is my order?" by caller ID, and honest answers while you are closed.
- Remembers regulars. "Your usual?" and the language they chose last time.
- Run your restaurant by calling it. Owners and managers call the same line to hear today's numbers or turn a dish off, with an undo text.
- Every call kept and reviewed. Recorded, transcribed and mood-tagged for good. When it cannot answer, you type the answer once and it is live.
- One connected system with the table, the website and the kitchen printer.

Questions owners ask
Which AI phone answering services take orders straight into the POS?
From their own pages in October 2026: Maple Pro, Loman Premium, Serviio, Kea, Revmo and Voiceplug take orders into the POS. Slang.ai and Yelp Host are built around reservations and send text links for ordering. Owner.com's AI phone ordering is waitlist only.
Does any AI phone service speak Urdu or Hindi?
Serviio lists Hindi. Slang.ai Premium says 97 languages and Revmo says 32, but neither publishes the list, so ask them directly. None of the vendor pages we read names Urdu. AZ's phone host greets callers in Urdu, Hindi and Spanish. Non-English calling is the newest part of our system and still being tuned with real callers.
How much does AI phone ordering cost for a restaurant?
Published prices in October 2026: Maple $150 a month for answering, $350 for POS ordering and phone payment (less if paid yearly). Slang.ai from $399 or $599 per location. Yelp Host from $249. Serviio 2% of each submitted order after a three-month free trial, no monthly fee. Loman, Kea, Revmo, ConverseNow and Voiceplug ask you to request a quote.
Can AI take a phone order into Clover?
Yes. Maple, Loman, Serviio, Kea and Voiceplug list Clover. Our own restaurant runs on Clover: the AI host builds the order, texts a pay link, and the ticket prints in the kitchen once it is paid.
How long before an AI phone host works on its own?
Plan on a ramp. With AZ, the first three months run alongside your staff: the AI takes some calls, your team takes the rest, and we review every call and teach it your answers. After that it carries nearly all calls.
What does AZ charge for the phone host?
We do not publish a price list. We quote the jobs you want covered, and take no vendor commission. If Maple or Serviio fits you better, we will tell you.
Tell us what is hurting. We show you it working on your menu.
Same-day reply. No vendor commissions, so we recommend whatever fits, including a tool on this page that is not ours.
